I have decades of subject matter expertise in all facets of employment law and as an accomplished litigator in a wide variety of commercial disputes including those arising out of the employment relationship but also involving a range of issues beyond that. My trial experience, which includes jury and bench trials, as well as numerouos arbitrations guide how I handle cases as a neutral: I let the parties put on their case, My goal as an arbitrator is to provide a fair but efficient process that resolves the parties dispute on the facts and the law as cost effectively as possible. I do not believe in "splitting the baby". I decide cases on the evidence and the law. In mediations, I am willing to take the time necessary and work hard to help get the parties to a mutually satisfactory resolution.

Fees and Hours

Generally, I do not charge for travel time for matters in or around the D.C. metro area, the Denver/Boulder metro areas or in Southwest Colorado
I do not generally charge for cancellations other than for any time devoted to a matter prior to cancellation.
My hourly rate through the AHLA is considerably lower than the hourly rate I charge as a lawyer in my law practice and is probably the most cost-effective approach for most parties. I am happy to discuss other, matter-specific fee arrangements that work for the parties, including daily rates, or a project (matter) based rate.
Generally, Monday through Friday during business hours. I will of course extend a hearing beyond the usual close of business in appropriate circumstances, such as for the convenience of the parties and witnesses.
