I bring experience and understanding of both the provider and the consumer to the issues affecting LTC communities and the people they serve. I came to long term care as a consumer, and began my career as a consumer advocate, before representing non-profit long term care providers as a policy attorney and federal lobbyist. Over the 25+ years I have been in this field I have long believed that mediation in particular should be built into LTC provider/consumer relations and that, while more controversial, AHLA's arbitration model provides for fair and effective resolution of disputes.

Fees and Hours

My rate is $350 per hour

I charge for travel time as follows:

Actual air/rail/hotel/meals cost for areas outside metropolitan Washington, DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia. I don't charge for auto mileage.

I charge for cancellations as follows:

Original case: no charge if no hearing scheduled; otherwise, hourly charge up to cancellation and any non-refundable transportation/hotel/ etc.

Other information about my fees:

Willing to negotiate in extraordinary situations.

I am willing to schedule meetings and hearings at night or on weekends.
