I have long experience as a health care lawyer assessing options and solving problems on a broad range of issues, in a wide variety of organizations and settings, as both in-house and outside counsel. I am also an experienced arbitrator and mediator in health care as well as other fields. As an arbitrator I see my obligations as including (i) deciding cases based on the evidence presented, rather than my personal opinion or experience, (ii) managing cases in an efficient and cost-effective way, and (iii) at all times being fair and impartial and demonstrating that fairness and impartiality by my conduct. I have arbitrated both large and small cases, both as the sole arbitrator and as the chair or a member of a three-arbitrator panel.

Education
Fees and Hours
For travel in excess of 30 miles. $450/hour up to a maximum of $1,200/day. No hourly charge for shorter travel.
For cancellation less than 72 hours before the scheduled start of an in-person arbitration hearing, $1,350. No charge for cancellation of telephone conferences or for cancellations of in-person hearings with more notice.
Hourly rates include an 18% administrative charge by AHLA ($81.00).
